Free website content questionnaire for clients

Most website projects stall because the client doesn't know what to write. A short list of simple questions gets you much further than "please send the content". Here are three ready-made questionnaires. Copy one, paste it into an email or a doc, and send it to your client. No sign-up needed.

Pick the one closest to your client's business: Local business, Restaurant / café, Professional services.

Local business

Shops, salons, studios, trades and other local services.

1. About your business

Answer in your own words — short notes are fine. We'll turn them into polished website text for you to approve.

  • How and when did your business start?
  • Who are your typical customers?
  • What makes you different from competitors? — What do customers praise you for most?
  • Three words that describe the feeling of your business — For example: warm, family, handmade.

2. Services

What you offer. Notes are fine — we'll write the service descriptions.

  • List your main services or products — One per line, with prices if you want them on the site.
  • Which service is the most popular, and why?
  • Anything customers should know before booking or buying?

3. Photos

Photos of your place, team and work. Large, sharp photos look best on a website.

How to get answers, not silence

  • Send it before design starts. Content first means fewer redesigns when the real text arrives.
  • Put a content deadline in the contract. "Content due 10 days after kickoff" is easier to enforce than a vague "when you can".
  • Ask for notes, not finished copy. Clients freeze when asked to "write the About page". Short answers to simple questions are easy, and you or a copywriter can polish them.
  • Let them talk. Many owners explain their business better out loud than in writing. A voice note or a 15-minute call often beats a blank document.
  • Ask for photo sizes up front. Say "at least 1600px wide" so you don't get a blurry logo screenshot at the last minute.

Or send it as one link

KickBrief sends these same questions as a single link. Your client answers by typing or by voice, AI turns their notes into website copy based only on what they said, and they approve every word. Photos are checked for size on upload, and polite reminders go out automatically until it's done.

Stop chasing clients for content

Send this questionnaire as one link. Your client answers simple questions and approves the copy. You get everything ready to paste.
