Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This policy explains what personal data KickBrief (“we”) processes, why, and your rights. KickBrief is operated by Maxim Khafizov, a self-employed individual based in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Contact: hello@kickbrief.com.
Two kinds of users
Designers create an account and use KickBrief to collect website content from their clients. For designers' own account data, we are the data controller.
Clients of designers open a checklist link and provide answers and files. For this content, the designer who created the project is the controller and we process it on their behalf, only to provide the service to them. If you are a client and have questions about your data, please contact your designer first; you can also contact us.
What we collect
- Designers: email address, account settings, the projects they create, and basic usage logs.
- Clients: the client name and email the designer entered, answers to checklist questions, AI-generated drafts and approved text, and uploaded files (images and PDFs).
- Technical data: IP address and browser information in server logs, used for security and abuse prevention.
We ask users not to upload passwords, payment details, identity documents, health information or other sensitive data. The service is not intended for children under 16.
Why we use it (legal bases)
- To provide the service you signed up for (performance of a contract).
- To send sign-in links, checklist invitations and reminders requested by the designer (contract / legitimate interest).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse such as spam (legitimate interest).
We do not sell personal data, show ads, or use your content to train AI models.
Service providers
We use the following providers (processors) to run KickBrief:
- Anthropic — AI model that drafts website copy from client answers.
- Netlify — website hosting.
- Turso — database.
- Supabase — file storage.
- Cloudflare — the "I'm human" check on the sign-in page (Turnstile).
- Resend — sending emails.
- lava.top (LAVALANE LTD, Cyprus) — payments for the Pro plan. It receives your email and payment details directly; we only receive the payment status.
- Voice answers use your browser's built-in speech recognition. Depending on your browser, the audio may be processed by the browser vendor (for example, Google for Chrome). Voice input is optional.
These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
- Projects and their files are deleted automatically 60 days after the designer marks them complete.
- Projects whose client hasn't opened or answered the checklist for 365 days are deleted.
- Designers can delete a project or their whole account at any time; deletion is immediate.
- Expired sign-in links and sessions are purged regularly.
Cookies
We use one strictly necessary cookie to keep designers signed in. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email hello@kickbrief.com. Clients can stop our emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in each email.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll notify designers by email before the change takes effect.
